2020 has been a wild year for everyone. We've all had our share of challenges with the pandemic this year. For musicians in particular, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. It seems that every show we had on schedule was up in the air and came down to a last minute decision on whether to cancel or go on with it. A Band of Jones Christmas was no exception. Living the Dream released on September 17th and I must say that the response has exceeded expectations. In addition to getting well over 10k streams on Spotify during the first weekend, 200 physical copies were sold in just a matter of days. When I wrote Strait Time, I wrote it as a novelty tune. I was working in a factory in Jackson, TN at the time. They sent us home on Monday and Tuesday due to lack of work. Then on Thursday, the boss comes and tells us we will have to work on Saturday...not for overtime but for straight time. My exact words were "to heck with straight time". So from there, the song Strait Time was born, as a fun, lighthearted tribute to one of my heroes, George Strait. The first time I played Strait Time at a songwriter…

Although I was stressed to the max for the entire 2 week period leading up to the release, it was definitely a success! Pizza Grocery in Corinth, MS was the perfect venue to host the event. I honestly couldn't believe the turnout. I would've been happy if 10 folks showed up. However, when I looked out and seen no empty tables in the house, I must admit I was proud.
